Does TreeSize require an internet connection?
No. TreeSize Pro is a 100% on-premise solution. It does not require an internet connection to scan your local drives or network shares, ensuring maximum privacy and security for enterprise data.
Can I scan SharePoint and Amazon S3?
Yes! TreeSize Pro supports scanning cloud storage including SharePoint Online, Amazon S3, and Azure Storage. You can analyze cloud space usage just like a local hard drive.
How is TreeSize Pro licensed?
We offer per-user and per-site licenses. A single user license allows one person to use the software on multiple machines, while site licenses cover all users at a specific physical location.
Why is TreeSize faster than Windows Explorer?
TreeSize uses multi-threaded scanning and can read the Master File Table (MFT) directly on NTFS drives. This allows it to gather file metadata significantly faster than the standard Windows API used by Explorer.
Is there a portable version available?
Yes. The TreeSize Pro installer allows you to create a portable version on a USB stick, which is ideal for IT administrators who need to run scans on various servers without local installation.
